The most common mistake is choosing a logo colour too close to the barrel. Go for contrast, and don’t try to fit your web address, strapline and phone number into such a small area: at this size, one clear idea works best, usually just the logo.

If the campaign needs an environmental message or a slightly more refined feel, look for recycled plastic barrels, soft-touch finishes or clear designs. This range includes models in R-ABS or recycled polycarbonate that suit pad printing and, on light-coloured barrels, UV digital print.
The product page shows whether the material is recycled, but the logo still comes first. If it has gradients or fine detail, a white or light barrel with UV is usually best; on dark backgrounds, a light solid ink works better so nothing gets lost.
