When the garment is for event staff, street promotions or a wet-day activity, what matters is that it is lightweight, easy to wear and reasonably priced. Windbreakers and rain jackets in polyester or technical fabric work well here, with screen printing or transfer for a visible logo on the chest or back.
The typical mistake is ordering a softshell thinking it is waterproof. It will cope with drizzle, but for steady rain a rain jacket is the better choice. If the logo is large or uses several colours, keep to the flat areas shown on the product page and avoid zips, pockets and seams.

When the jacket is given as a gift, feel, cut and whether it will be worn outside work matter more. In this range, better-finished softshells, lightweight padded jackets and light down jackets make sense, with a small logo in embroidery or transfer so the garment still feels like everyday clothing.
Subtle branding on the chest usually works better than a large logo on the back. Avoid placing it over topstitching, pockets or zips, because it will distort; on quilted jackets, look for a flat area between panels.
